Survivor Youth CT humble beginnings.

It all started in Griswold CT, at a camp ground called Camp Wightman. Judy Sisson Wallace of First Congregation Church of Guilford originally started the camp retreat Survivor with a mission to join youth groups from all the various churches in CT and recruited Zaibel Torres for media and marketing. The first retreat ever held was more than just fun, it was transforming youth and it formed a community, within the youth groups of Connecticut. It wasn't long before the participants of Survivor were asking for more. 

In 2016 the baton was passed to Zaibel Torres, of Iglesia Bautista Emanuel of Bridgeport CT, to continue our retreats. In 2017 Lori Burgos of City Wide church in Bridgeport CT joined Survivor.  In 2018 Lori joined Zaibel as co-coordinator for Survivor Youth CT. The vision has since grown. What started as a group of 20 youth who met once a year is now over hundred youth, with several encounters a year. There are more behind the scenes people from our partnering churches being the foot traffic for what God has put together. However, at the end of the day Survivor belongs to God.
